Phnom Penh (FN), April 25 - Zhuang Yizhong, director of China Top Fruit Co., Ltd. and his delegation paid a courtesy to Veng Sakhon, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, on Wednesday afternoon, to discuss the opportunity to export mangoes from Cambodia to China.
The company has recognized the quality of Cambodian mangoes and Chinese market demand, according to Veng Sakhon’s official Facebook page.
Cambodia is to export mangoes directly to China without passing through Vietnam, resulting in at least five times greater in price.
Both sides reviewed and evaluated the location and construction of factory for processing and packaging.
Both sides reviewed the procedures for the contract with farmers in collecting, purchasing, and exporting 500,000 tons of mangoes per year to China.
Both sides expected to sign the Memorandum of Understanding by the end of this week.
