Phnom Penh (FN), April 24 - Veng Sakhon, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries met with International Fruit Company “Pagoda” to discuss the potential market of agricultural products in China, and to strengthen coordination mechanism between the private and public sector in Cambodia.

The company requested the minister to support its project in planting, processing, packaging and exporting fruits to the Chinese market to meet growing demand in the near future.

Veng Sakhon welcomed the delegation and the company’s interest in Cambodia’s agro-industry.

The minister told the company that Cambodia has adequate land, water and weather conditions favorable for agricultural production. Cambodia requires foreign investors who can cooperate with the local companies to export agricultural products to international market.

Pagoda is an international fruit retailer in the Chinese market, currently owns 2,700 stores, located in 40 cities in 13 provinces in China, profitted in $100 million in 2017.
