BANGKOK, April 10 (Xinhua) -- A new song with its lyrics written by Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha was released online late Monday with similar melody to the theme song of popular soap opera "Love Destiny" or "Bupphesaniwat."
The song "Fight for the Nation," released just before Thailand's new year Songkran, actually shares the same composer, Wichian Tantipimolapan, with the theme song "Bupphesaniwat."
"No matter how badly I'm torn down, Every day I'm tired, but I keep it all inside, because my heart tells me to work for the nation," sings the prime minister's song.
"Bupphesaniwat," a TV opera about a modern Thai woman's soul going back the Ayutthaya Era, dwelling in the body of her twin sister in the past life and falling in love with a handsome nobility then, is very popular in Thailand, as many Thais can be seen taking photos in Ayutthaya Era costumes.
The prime minister's song seeks to capitalize on the massive hit of "Bupphesaniwat," Thai media Khaosod commented.
The song is the sixth written by Prayut since he came into power in 2014. His works include "Returning Happiness to the People," "Because You're Thailand," "Hope and Faith," "Bridge," and "Diamond Heart."
