Phnom Penh (FN), April 10 - Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono said on Sunday that Japan will assist Cambodia on logistics, human resource development, and urban functions.
His statement was made in a meeting with his counterpart Minister Prak Sokhonn at Peace Palace Phnom Penh on April 8, 2018.
Kono's pledge comes as Japan aims to promote quality infrastructure development under its "free and open" strategy for the Indo-Pacific region.
"I explained that Japan will continue to extend support in the three key areas of logistics, human resource development and strengthening urban functions," stated Kono.
Cambodia's government spokesman and senior officials said that Kono did not concentrate on Cambodia's politics.
