Phnom Penh (FN), April 5 - Phnom Penh Municipal Court (PPMC) Prosecutor and authorities, on Thursday morning, ordered the Phnom Penh Post to compensate $260,000 to Chris Dawe, former General Manager of the Post, with charge of labor disputes.
The court agreed to grant the Post 20 days to compensate Chris Dawe, according to PPMC spokesman Ly Sophanna.
The court Implemented the verdict of the Appeal Court released on February 13, 2018 which ruled that Chris Dawe won a case over the Phnom Penh Post.
Chris Dawe was a former General Manager of the Post in March 2012, but was fired in 2015.
The Phnom Penh Post has recently been reported to be facing a tax debt to the state. However, through a statement on March 20, 2018, the current General Manager of the Post rejected the claim, saying that the Post did not shutdown in Cambodia due to tax evasion as some media outlets reported.
