Kampong Speu (FN), March 29 - Lieutenant General Zhou Songhe, deputy commander of the People's Liberation Army, said that the second large-scale joint exercise from March 17 to 29, 2018, between Cambodia and China is to show the world that the two countries are capable of preventing terrorism and assisting humanitarian works.

The announcement was made after the closing ceremony of the 2018 Golden Dragon exercise between Cambodia and China in Samrong Tong district, Kampong Speu province, on Thursday.

"The training is an excellent opportunity to increase the capacity of the two armed forces, to change each other's experiences in order to gain the capabilities to defend our national defense more effectively”, stated Tea Banh, Cambodian Defense Minister.

The minister added that 2018 marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which has shown progress in all fields through joint efforts of the two countries.

Cambodian-Chinese friendship has been enhanced by high level communications, cooperation for mutual benefits, active cultural exchange of people and people, and close coordination between the two sides at the meetings.
