Phnom Penh (FN), March 23 – Sam Rainsy acknowledged that he actually paid the foreign firm for a campaign to impose strict sanction to Cambodia's economy, said in the interview with Radio Free Asia (RFA) on Thursday night.

He claimed that there was nothing to hide as those are public news, with high technical skills, communication and writing skills, and relationships with influential people in the world, and most importantly, Rainsy felt proud of himself that sanctions on Cambodia will be his success and of the national movements.

"This is a serious warning from the international community...and a punishment, showing the success of the CNRM, which involves in all of these works and encourages the international community to punish...", Rainsy said.

Analyst "Chao Chak Smuk" considered Rainsy's work toward imposing strict sanction to Cambodia an act of treason from birth.

The analyst added that employing foreigners to destroy Cambodia can be seen as in the work of reporters and analysts that disseminate information to exaggerate the situation and confuse the public. This is the reason why Cambodia is negatively perceived, while actually Cambodia is peaceful, developing, and prospering.

Rainsy decided to spend $250,000 on a campaign to sanction cambodia’s economy.

“The Cambodia National Rescue Movement (CNRM), an organization created in January by exiled opposition politicians, this month retained American public relations firm BerlinRosen to manage a publicity campaign,” according to an article published by Asia Times on March 20, 2018, entitled “Cambodia exiles bid to buy influence in Washington”.

“The paid services, aimed at intensifying international pressure on Prime Minister Hun Sen’s recent political repression, will cost US$250,000 over the next six months, according to files released under the Foreign Agents Registration Act reviewed by Asia Times,” it continued.
