Phnom Penh (FN), March 17 - Cambodia has exported nearly 30,000 tons of rubber within the first two months of 2018, amounted to $40 million, according to the official report of the General Department of Rubber, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries on Friday.

Cambodia has exported only 9,643 tons of rubber in February, a decrease of 49% compared to February 2017. The average price of rubber is $1,521 per ton. In total, Cambodia earned $14 million.

Cambodia has exported 18,783 tons of rubber in January 2018, an increase of 32% compared to January 2017. The average price of rubber is $1,440 per ton. In total, Cambodia profited $27 million.

Cambodia has 436,340 hectares of rubber plantations. So far, we harvested 170,230 hectares of rubber, an equivalent to 39%, and the remaining is 266,109 hectares.

The government has set a goal to produce 290,000 tons of rubber by 2020.

Cambodia ranked the 16th largest natural rubber producers in the world.
