Phnom Penh (FN), March 15 - The Supreme Court, on Thursday, sentenced former Cambodia National Rescue Party leader Sam Rainsy to 20 months imprisonment, a fine of $2,500 to the state and compensate 100 riel to the plaintiff, according to Prime Minister’s lawyer Ky Tech.

Sam Rainsy was charged of public defamation and incitement to provoke serious social order, according to articles 305, 494 and 495 of the Criminal Code.

Rainsy accused Prime Minister Hun Sen as a man behind political analyst Kem Ley’s murder in 2016.
