Phnom Penh (FN), March 7 – Cambodia will host the 9th East Asia High-Level Seminar (HLS) on Environmentally Sustainable Cities (ESC), to be held on March 8-10, 2018 in Siem Reap, Cambodia, according to Ministry of Environment (MoE)’s press release dated on Tuesday.

The workshop, organized annually since 2011 by Government of Cambodia, Government of Japan, ASEAN Secretariat, and ASEAN Working Group on Environmentally Sustainable Cities, gathers together influential East and Southeast Asia policymakers, experts and practitioners working on clean, green and sustainable cities from East Asia.

Senior officials from the region’s environmental and urban line ministries, city authorities and development partners will share and promote their latest ideas and initiatives on sustainable city development; exchange knowledge and explore collaboration potential; and develop specific recommendations on practical cooperation activities on environmentally sustainable cities to the East Asia Summit Environment Ministers Meeting, which includes ASEAN Environment Ministers, according to the press release.
