Phnom Penh (FN), March 6 - Deputy Commander and armed forces reacted to former leader of opposition party Sam Rainsy for recently calling on armed forces to revolt against the government.

Rainsy posted a new video late Saturday on social networking calling on all armed forces to disobey the order of the current government led by Prime Minister Hun Sen.

Rainsy also stated that under his leadership, lives of the army will improve.

General Kun Kim, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, and Chea Dara, Rector of the University of National Defense, as well as troops at the border, in an interview with Fresh News on Tuesday, considered the appeal of Rainsy a malicious intention to destroy the nation and happiness of the people just to get power.

"Sam Rainsy's actions were poisonous, not different from his father; achieving the power without caring about the nation and people" said Kun Kim.

"The army will not follow Sam Rainsy's stupid idea," he added.

Modern weapons are used to protect the elected Royal Government, people's peace and security, and defeat those who attempted to destroy the nation like Rainsy and his followers, according to the Deputy Commander.

Army filed a lawsuit against Rainsy for incitement case which undermined the national security, a violation of the penal code of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

Phnom Penh Municipal Court Judge Ham Meng Se ordered former CNRP leader Sam Rainsy to clarify the case citing army to revolt against the government on March 19, 2018.
