Phnom Penh (FN), March 4 - The Ministry of Interior (MoI) refused the proposal to form Kem Ley's Party, as the party's name did not comply with the new law on political parties; Article 11 stipulated that names of personal and private images are prohibited by law, according to Khieu Sopheak, spokesman for MoI on Sunday.
Kem Ley's brother, Kem Rithisith, announced to create a new political party named Kem Ley to race in the 6th National Assembly election in July 2018.
Kem Ley Party aims to bring the best of Kem Ley's ideas to continue contributing to the development of the country. In particular, the party will prevent extremists from using the name of Dr. Kem Ley as a political tool to serve their personal interests.
