YANGON, March 3 (Xinhua) — Bilateral trade between Myanmar and Vietnam hit 538 million U.S. dollars as of December in current 2017-2018 fiscal year, the official Global New Light of Myanmar reported Saturday.
During the 9-month period, the country's export reached 97.9 million U.S. dollars while its import value topped 440 million U.S. dollars.
The country's trade with Vietnam totaled over 494 million U.S. dollars in last 2016-2017 fiscal year.
The country mainly exports mineral, agricultural, forest and marine products to Vietnam.
Car spare parts, computer parts, construction materials, steel, plastics, pharmaceuticals and chemical products are imported into Myanmar.
Meanwhile, Myanmar's trade with members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) reached 8.6 billion U.S. dollars as of December in FY 2017-18, according to the Commerce Ministry.
