Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 28 - The Trial Chamber of the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC) on Wednesday issued an official statement confirming that the accuses Nuon Chea and Khieu Samphan are able to attend the trial.

ECCC has assigned two medical experts to assess Nuon Chea's and Khieu Samphan's health on January 29, 2018 to determine whether they are strong enough to attend hearing on case 002/02.

The Tribunal noted the recommendation of experts advising on a regular review of the accuses' mental functions.
