Phnom Penh (FN), Feb 22 – His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni and Her Majesty Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk flied to Beijing for medical checkup on Thursday.

Samdech Say Chhum, President of the Senate, Samdech Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly, and Prime Minister Hun Sen joined the send-off ceremony with the presences of the royal family, senior officials of the Royal Government of Cambodia, as well as ambassadors and embassy officials in Cambodia.

According to the royal message, during the King’s absence, President of Senate will assume the title of the acting Head of State.

The King and His Majesty Queen Mother usually have their healths checked up by Chinese doctors twice a year and have always received the warmest greeting and hospitality from Chinese President and other senior leaders.
