Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 12 - Indian Ambassador to Cambodia Manika Jain said that India will continue to provide scholarships to students, help restore Ta Prom temple, and provide loans to Cambodia.
The statement was made during the meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Men Sam An at the Ministry of National Assembly- Senate Relations and Inspection on Monday.
"India is an important partner in the framework of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). India and Cambodia have a similar history, such as multi-party democracy, oppression of colonialism, and a struggle for independence from colonies and similar cultural traditions,” said DPM Men Sam An.
She added that India has provided a lot of grants and loans to Cambodia contributing to Cambodia’s development.
On 24-27 January 2018, Prime Minister Hun Sen led a delegation to attend the ASEAN-India Summit and the 69th Republic Day Celebration in New Delhi, India.
Prime Minister also signed four agreements include: a Memorandum of Understanding on Human Trafficking, the Treaty on Legal Aid on Criminal Matters, Cultural Exchange Program, and a $ 36.92 million concessional loan agreement for the Tonle Sap Water Resources Development Project.
Indian Ambassador to Cambodia pledged to maintain good relations with Cambodia.
