Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 11 – Prime Minister Hun Sen reiterated that all authority in charge who refused to take action against overloaded trucks will face a position withdrawal.
"All overloaded trucks that still operated in any province or district must be redesigned. The minister, the provincial and the district governors of that area are responsible for this case. If no action is taken, their positions will be withdrawn", PM Hun Sen wrote on his Facebook page on Sunday.
Following the implementation of the regulation on Feb. 9, authorities at all levels, both in Phnom Penh and in the provinces, take immediate action on illegal-designed trucks.
Meanwhile, the premier thanked the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the National Road Safety Committee, and authorities at all levels for strengthening traffic law enforcement and inspecting illegally-designed and overloaded trucks throughout the country.
In just two days from Friday to Saturday, 157 overloaded trucks have been redesigned and 310 are under process.
Prime Minister urged people to obey the traffic laws to ensure the reliability of infrastructures.
