Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 8 - Prime Minister Hun Sen stated that protectionism policies in trade of some countries have led them to isolation.
He added that Cambodia had abandoned protectionism policy since 1991.
The statement was made on Thursday morning, during the inauguration ceremony of Chip Mong Insee Cement (CMIC) Corporation, a large cement factory in Kampot, approximately 130km southwest of Phnom Penh.
"We signed the contract with the World Trade Organization, and we must do it for economic freedom and that we are against protectionism policies," he said.
"I still believe that protectionism policies will not be successful, each country can not be alienated, but cooperated," he added.
Countries with democratic liberation and economic freedom do not have any restrictions, except relevant tax rules, and norms, according to the Prime Minister.
