(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet highlighted Cambodia and Viet Nam’s goal of reaching USD 20 billion in bilateral trade, with turnover hitting USD 6.6 billion in the first nine months of 2026.
Speaking at the Cambodia-Viet Nam Business Forum 2026 in Phnom Penh, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said bilateral trade reached USD 7.8 billion in 2025, while Cambodia registered 107 Vietnamese investment projects worth approximately USD 3.6 billion between 1994 and September 2026.
Samdech Thipadei underscored the complementary strengths of both economies, citing Viet Nam’s manufacturing and technological capabilities alongside Cambodia’s expanding production base, skilled workforce and strategic location.
On the occasion, the Cambodian prime minister also udnerlined the need to deepen economic integration by linking the Phnom Penh-Bavet and Ho Chi Minh City-Moc Bai expressways and improving cross-border goods transport.
He also welcomed plans to establish a Cambodia-Viet Nam Joint Trade Committee and strengthen trade promotion cooperation in 2027-2028 to advance the USD 20 billion target.
