(Phnom Penh): Cambodia exported 723,814 tonnes of cashew nuts valued at USD 1.17 billion in the first nine months of 2026, representing a 120 per cent year-on-year increase, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
Speaking on Wednesday (Oct. 7) at the Cambodia Cashew Federation’s first general assembly, Secretary of State for the Ministry of Commerce Va Rut San said Cambodia exported cashews to 27 countries in Europe, Asia, the United States, and other markets.
Cambodia Cashew Federation President An Dara said that exports of processed cashews increased by 30 per cent in the first eight months of 2026, reaching over USD 60 million. This growth reflects expanding domestic processing capacity.
The number of cashew-processing enterprises has grown from over 40 to over 50, with four major companies establishing processing plants in Cambodia in the past three years.
Cambodia is the world’s second-largest producer of raw cashews, producing over 1 million tonnes annually, while the M23 cashew variety is recognised for its quality and value.
