(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Acting Head of State Samdech Techo Hun Sen said Cambodia attaches high importance to its long-standing friendship and close partnership with Myanmar.
Speaking at a state banquet on Friday (Sep. 11), hosted for Myanmar President Min Aung Hlaing during his state visit to Cambodia, Samdech Techo welcomed the President and congratulated him on his election.
Samdech Techo said the visit reaffirmed the long-standing friendship between the two countries and provided an opportunity to deepen cooperation on bilateral, regional and international issues.
He highlighted progress in trade, investment, tourism, culture, education, information and people-to-people exchanges, noting that Cambodia and Myanmar jointly commemorated 70 years of diplomatic relations in 2025.
On the occasion, the acting head of state also expressed confidence that continued solidarity, mutual respect and cooperation within ASEAN and internationally would further strengthen and advance Cambodia-Myanmar relations.
