(Phnom Penh): Chinese President Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC), expressed his sincere gratitude to Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) President Samdech Techo Hun Sen for his congratulatory message marking the 105th anniversary of the CPC’s founding, according to a letter seen by Fresh News on Monday (Aug. 10).

In the letter, Xi underscored the enduring strength of Cambodia-China relations, describing the bilateral friendship as one that has stood the test of changes in the international landscape.

“The iron-clad friendship between China and Cambodia has withstood the test of changing international landscape, solid as a rock and growing from strength to strength,” Xi said.

He also recalled Samdech Techo Hun Sen’s recent official goodwill visit to China, during which the two leaders reached important new consensus on advancing bilateral relations and building a Cambodia-China community with a shared future.

“Under new circumstances, I stand ready to maintain strategic communication with Samdech President, deepen political mutual trust, boost inter-party exchanges and experience-sharing on governance, advance deeper and more substantive mutually-beneficial cooperation across all sectors, with a view to bringing greater benefits to our two peoples,” Chinese President Xi underscored.
