Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 25 – Phnom Penh Municipal Court, on Thursday, ordered Le Laisreng, former member of board of FUNCINPEC Party, to compensate $125,000 to Prime Minister Hun Sen and $2,000 to the state.
Ky Tech, lawyer of the premier, filed the lawsuit on October 24, 2017, accusing Le Laisreng on Lèse-majesté and public defamation.
The lawsuit was submitted after Le Laisreng and Ky Lom Orng, former lawmaker of FUNCIPEC, insulted his Majesty King and Cambodian Prince Norodom Ranariddh as well as defamed high ranking officials of the Royal Government of Cambodia.
