Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 23 - Sik Bun Hok, Chairman of National Election Committee (NEC), said that the NEC's two major goals are to make the voter list accurate, ensuring that Khmer citizens of all voting ages must be properly named in the voter list; and that the ballot counting must be fair, organized, and transparent.

His statement was made during his consultations with relevant national and international stakeholders on the Draft and Procedures for the National Assembly (N.A) Election 6th Mandate, at Tonle Bassac II Restaurant, Phnom Penh, on January 23, 2018.

He added that NEC had successfully achieved those tasks in the 2017 Commune Council elections, and he will lead the NEC to succeed in the future, seeking and ensuring the benefits for the people.

Meanwhile, Sik Bun Hok has called for the people to participate in the election to fulfill their will and the NEC will work transparently and fairly, as it is the chance to select a national leader for Cambodian citizens.

The N.A Election 6th Mandate will take place on Sunday, July 29, 2018.
