(Phnom Penh): Dr. Yi Siyan has received the Outstanding Cambodian Scientists Gold Award 2025 and has been named among the prestigious Asian Scientist 100, a distinguished list recognising leading researchers and innovators from 24 countries across Asia.

The dual recognition highlights his significant and sustained contributions to public health research, particularly in infectious diseases, sexual and reproductive health, and mental health. His work has been widely recognised for combining rigorous scientific methods with evidence-based policymaking to improve health outcomes in Cambodia and across Southeast Asia.

The Asian Scientist 100 honours researchers whose work has advanced scientific knowledge while generating meaningful societal impact. Dr. Yi’s achievements reflect his long-standing commitment to addressing complex public health challenges and strengthening health systems through applied research.

Driven by a passion for improving the health and well-being of vulnerable populations, his work focuses on translating epidemiologic and implementation research into practical strategies that strengthen health systems and inform policy. Through close collaboration with communities and Ministries of Health across Southeast Asia, he continues to advance equitable, evidence-based solutions that ensure effective interventions reach those who need them most.
