(Phnom Penh): Sky Angkor Airlines is preparing to launch direct flights between Seoul and Siem Reap during the upcoming winter season, in a move expected to boost tourism and improve travel connectivity between Cambodia and South Korea.
The announcement came during a meeting on Wednesday (May 20) between Cambodian Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Khuon Phon Rattanak and Kim Andy, Deputy Director General for Marketing at Sky Angkor Airlines, held at the Cambodian Embassy in Seoul.
During the discussion, both sides reviewed the airline’s current passenger services between Cambodia and South Korea and explored ways to strengthen cooperation to better support Cambodian travellers and attract more South Korean tourists to Cambodia.
Ambassador Khuon Phon Rattanak also shared details about several upcoming embassy events and requested the airline’s support and collaboration.
Highlighting the growing popularity of Angkor Wat among Korean and international visitors, the ambassador expressed hope that direct flights to Siem Reap would improve access to Cambodia’s world-famous heritage destination.
In response, Kim confirmed that Sky Angkor Airlines is actively planning to introduce the direct Seoul–Siem Reap route for the forthcoming winter travel season.
