Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 19 - Cambodian People’s Party (CPP)’s spokesman, Sok Eysan, highlighted the policies to be implemented in the new mandate of 2018-2023.

His statement was made in a three-day General Assembly of the Central Committee from Friday Jan. 19 to Sunday Jan. 21, 2018, chaired by Prime Minister Hun Sen, and attended by more than 2,000 leaders.

The major policies include: (1) to safeguard independence, freedom, sovereignty, and peace for the development and country and harmony of people; (2) to improve the living conditions of all people; (3) to protect the monarchy and uphold democracy; (4) to strengthen public administration at all levels; (5) to continue promoting reform for good governance; (6) to promote the development of socio-economy and sustainable, inclusive, and equitable development focusing on macroeconomic stability and public financial management, and partnership on development.

According to the draft policy, CPP prioritized fighting against corruption, while continued to advance accountability by strengthening the capacity efficiency of public institutions at all levels, as well as mobilize the participation and support of the private sectors and civil societies.

CPP continues to remind its members to respect the "mirroring, showering, cleaning, and healing" approach to address the people's concerns, and to increase the people's support on CPP.

CPP has stated that since the day of birth, CPP has always adhered to its purpose and ideals, standing with the people and connecting with the people to overcome all the obstacles, and sacrificing lives for independence, freedom, democracy, neutrality and social progress.

CPP, originally known as the Khmer People's Revolutionary Party, was born on June 28, 1951, started with Cambodian people's movement against colonialism for national independence.

When Cambodia plunged into genocide regime from April 1975, CPP was the only political force that has stood up and gathered all patriotic forces across the country to overthrow the regime.
