(Phnom Penh): In the first quarter of 2026, Cambodia successfully exported 361,578 tons of rice, generating a total revenue of approximately USD 207.54 million, according to a report by the Cambodia Rice Federation on Friday (Apr. 3).
During January to March, 58 exporting companies shipped rice to 56 international destinations. Among these markets, 31 European countries imported 98,075 tons of rice, valued at USD 68.16 million.
Additionally, China and Hong Kong contributed to the export figures, with imports totalling 89,215 tons, valued at USD 56.38 million.
Exports to five ASEAN countries amounted to 145,771 tons, generating revenue of USD 56.35 million. Furthermore, 18 additional destinations, including regions in Africa, the Middle East, the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, received 28,517 tons of rice valued at USD 26.65 million.
In terms of rice varieties, fragrant rice represented the majority of exports at 60.12%, followed by long-grain white rice at 16.16%, parboiled rice at 1.55%, organic rice at 0.88%, broken rice of various types at 21.09%, and other rice varieties at 0.2%.
Moreover, Cambodia also exported 2,000,600 tons of wet paddy rice, valued at USD 433.23 million during the same period.
