(Phnom Penh): On 29 March 2026, Anatoly Borovik, Russian Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Cambodia, participated in a Russian and Soviet Alumni Reception, reaffirming the strong educational ties between the two countries.

Speaking at the event, the Russian ambassador highlighted the important role of education in strengthening bilateral relations. He noted that over the past decades, more than 8,000 Cambodian citizens have graduated from Russian educational institutions across various fields.

“Education has always played a significant role in our bilateral dialogue. […] We remain fully committed to ensuring that as many Cambodians as possible have the opportunity to study in Russia,” he stated.

The reception was organized by the Association of Former Cambodian Students from the Soviet Union and Russia. The event brought together senior government officials, business leaders, and representatives from the fields of science and culture, as well as Russian diplomats.
