Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 17 – Prime Minister Hun Sen stated that the purchases from companies abroad remain stable as last year and the number of tourist visiting Cambodia continues to grow reaching over 5 million tourists.
The statement was made when the premier held a meeting with nearly 17,000 garment workers in Po Sen Chey district, Phnom Penh on Wednesday.
The premier added Cambodia considered constructing airports in Siem Reap province and Phnom Penh in response to the growing number of tourists.
In 2017, there were 5.6 million international tourists visited Cambodia, an increase of 12%. Among them, 1.2 million tourist are Chinese.
The export through tax preference system was worth $9.5 billion in 2017, an increase of 19%, compared to 2016, according to the report of Ministry of Commerce in the annual meeting.
