Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 12 – The price of the land nearby a new airport which will be constructed in Takhmao city, Kandal province, is skyrocketing, Kim Heang, president of Cambodian Values and Estates Agent Association told Fresh News on Friday.
Kim Heang added that the previous price was worth $1 to $5 per square meter or $10,000 per hectare plot of land. Now, it rose $10 to $60 per one square meter.
Kim Heang commended the government for selecting the right location, as there are many accessible roads from Phnom Penh.
A high ranking official of Cambodian Secretariat of Civil Aviation also told Fresh News that in respond to the increasing of the tourists every year, Cambodia needs new airport in 2025 due to over carrying capacity of Phnom Penh International Airport.
The Office of Council Ministers (OCM), on Friday, announced that Cambodia will construct a new airport on a 2,600 hectares plot of land in Takhmao city. The airport will have an investment worth of $1,500 million.
