(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet sent a congratulatory letter to Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, on the joyous occasion of Lunar New Year 2026, the Year of the Horse, reaffirming the close friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two neighboring countries.
"On behalf of the Royal Government and the people of Cambodia, I would like to convey my warmest greetings and sincere congratulations to Your Excellency and the friendly people of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam on the joyous occasion of Lunar New Year 2026, the Year of the Horse," according to the letter seen by Fresh News on Monday (Feb. 16).
"Taking this opportunity, I wish to congratulate the Government and the friendly people of Viet Nam on the remarkable economic growth of over 8% last year. As Viet Nam continues its journey toward becoming an upper-middle-income nation by 2030 and a high-income, industrialized country by 2045, I wish to extend my best wishes for the realization of these goals, with sustained annual growth and prosperity," Samdech Thipadei added.
The prime minister noted with great satisfaction the success of the State Visit of To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, to Cambodia on 6 February 2026. He recalled their candid discussions during which they strongly reaffirmed their shared commitment to further expanding comprehensive cooperation and strengthening relations in the spirit of good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-lasting stability.
The prime minister concluded by reiterating his highest regards to his Vietnamese counterpart, expressing hope that the Year of the Horse would bring continued well-being to the leadership and people of Viet Nam.
