Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 11 - Police force from the Department of Intelligence and the Department of Immigration, in cooperation with the Regional Security Office (RSO) at the US Embassy in Phnom Penh, arrested an American man for abusing a child in the United States.

The arrest was made at the request of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the domestic intelligence and security service of the United States.

Ouk Hai Seila, Director of the Intelligence and Compliance Department, told Fresh News agency that the suspect, Samuel Douglas Lovejoy, 31, holding a passport number 548552504, was arrested at Kampot, on January 9, 2018.

After the arrest, Kampot police authority sent the suspect to the Department of Immigration in Phnom Penh and will hand over to the U.S. authorities to take legal action on January 19, 2018.

Police force also detained suspect’s relatives for further questioning.
