(Phnom Penh): Leaders of Cambodia, Viet Nam, and Laos expressed strong satisfaction with the peaceful resolution of border issues among the three countries, reaffirming their shared commitment to border security, regional stability, and sustainable development.

Chea Thyrith, Spokesperson of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), spoke on Sunday (Feb. 8) at a press conference on the outcomes of the bilateral and trilateral meetings among the leaders of Cambodia, Laos, and Viet Nam, held on 6-7 February 2026 in Phnom Penh.

According to Chea Thyrith, the leaders, Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Vietnamese General Secretary To Lam, and Lao General Secretary Thongloun Sisoulith, placed high value on the stable and secure situation along the shared borders of Cambodia, Laos, and Viet Nam. “Border security is a core foundation for progress in diplomacy, politics, and national defence.”

He highlighted that peaceful cooperation and joint border resolution have become a strong and positive tradition among the three countries, strengthened through consistent dialogue, mutual respect, and adherence to shared principles.

The CPP spokesperson further noted that the recent meetings demonstrated a clear political will and firm commitment by both the ruling parties and the states of all three nations to deepen cooperation across all sectors. This cooperation is grounded in traditional friendship, respect for sovereignty, and shared national interests.

Chea Thyrith added that the outcomes of the meetings not only reflect the strength and maturity of party-to-party and state-to-state relations, but also send a clear message to the international community of the collective commitment of Cambodia, Laos, and Viet Nam to peace, security, and sustainable development in the region.
