(Phnom Penh): Cambodia recorded nearly seven million inbound and outbound air passengers in 2025, marking a 12 percent increase compared with the previous year, according to a senior aviation official.
Speaking to Fresh News on 14 January 2026, Sin Chansereyvutha, Secretary of State and Spokesperson for the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA), confirmed the robust growth across the country’s three main international airports: Techo International (KTI), Siem Reap Angkor (SAI), and Sihanoukville (KOS).
Official data for the twelve-month period show that Cambodia handled a total of 6,988,259 air passengers, reflecting year-on-year growth of 12 percent. Flight movements also increased to 64,821 inbound and outbound operations, up 11 percent from 2024.
The air cargo sector recorded even stronger performance, with total freight volume reaching 93,889 tonnes, representing a significant 21 percent increase compared with the previous year.
Providing an operational update as of mid-January 2026, the SSCA spokesperson said Cambodia’s three international airports are currently handling an average of 1,272 flights per week. Techo International Airport accounts for the largest share with 848 weekly flights, followed by Siem Reap Angkor International Airport with 366 flights, while Sihanoukville International Airport handles 54 flights per week. In addition, limited domestic services continue at Dara Sakor Airport, which currently operates four weekly flights connecting to Techo International Airport.
In terms of international connectivity, Cambodia’s aviation market is served by 36 airlines, including 32 international carriers and four domestic operators. These airlines link the kingdom to 46 cities across 17 countries, encompassing eight ASEAN member states as well as major destinations in China, South Korea, Japan, India, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Taiwan, and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
