(Phnom Penh): Cambodia–Singapore trade surged to USD 2.341 billion in 2025, marking an increase of 88.97 percent compared to USD 1.239 billion in the same period of 2024, according to a report by the Ministry of Commerce.
The report shows that Cambodia’s exports to Singapore surged sharply, reaching USD 920 million, an increase of 212.23 percent. Meanwhile, imports from Singapore also recorded strong growth, totalling USD 1.421 billion, up 50.51 percent year-on-year.
Lim Heng, Vice President of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, told Fresh News that the sharp rise in bilateral trade followed Cambodia’s border dispute with Thailand, which resulted in the suspension of fuel and gas imports from Thailand and a shift toward sourcing petroleum products from Singapore. He added that several goods previously imported from Thailand are now being sourced from Singapore.
At the same time, Cambodia has boosted exports of key products to Singapore, including agricultural commodities as well as garments and textile products.
Lim Heng noted that Singapore remains one of Cambodia’s most important markets within ASEAN, highlighting its role as a major economic partner and a member of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), which has supported the growth of bilateral trade.
Meanwhile, Chea Chandara, President of the Cambodia Association of Logistics and Supply Chain Businesses, said Singapore primarily imports raw materials for food processing. These materials are sourced from neighbouring countries and other ASEAN members, including Cambodia. He added that Singaporean investors are increasingly exploring investment opportunities in Cambodia’s food sector to supply the Singapore market.
He further noted that logistics companies mainly transport garments and agricultural products from Cambodia to Singapore.
