Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 6 - January 7, 2018 has been 39 years that Phnom Penh liberated from Khmer Rouge Regime.

Phnom Penh, which used to be happy and crowded before April 17, 1975, radically changed to extreme silent during the Khmer Rouge Regime led by Pol Pot, Ieng Sary and Nuon Chea.

The policy of evacuating people to do farming by the Khmer Rouge had transformed the capital, which was the center of economics, culture and tourism, to become the Ghost City.

After falling Khmer Rouge Regime by the Cambodian forces under the flag of United Front for National Salvation on January 7, 1979, some citizens has returned to Phnom Penh.

After the Victory Day, Phnom Penh had only approximately 70 peoples.

Today, Phnom Penh has more than 2 million people and the land has been urbanized to over 700 square kilometers featuring multi-storey buildings.
