(Phnom Penh): On the afternoon of 23 December 2025, Cambodian Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn held a telephone conversation with Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic, concerning the ongoing Cambodia-Thailand border conflict.

At the outset, Minister Prak Sokhonn expressed Cambodia’s profound gratitude for France’s steadfast support in seeking a peaceful resolution to the Cambodia-Thailand border conflict, in accordance with international law, particularly the Ceasefire Agreement of 28 July 2025 and the Kuala Lumpur Joint Declaration of 26 October 2025, according to the outcomes seen by Fresh News on Friday (Dec. 26). 

He informed his French counterpart of the grave impact of the ongoing hostilities, which have displaced more than half a million Cambodian civilians and created a serious humanitarian crisis.
