(Banteay Meanchey): On Friday morning (Dec. 19), Fresh News journalists reporting from the Cambodia–Thailand border conflict zone documented extensive damage to homes and schools caused by artillery shelling and airstrikes carried out by Thai military forces.
Images captured at the Boeung Trakoun checkpoint in Thmar Pouk District, Banteay Meanchey Province, show residential buildings and educational facilities severely damaged by heavy shelling and bombs dropped from Thai fighter jets.
The area has been among the most intense battle zones, enduring nearly 12 consecutive days of heavy fighting.
