(Phnom Penh): The Royal Government of Cambodia has approved a trial visa-exemption program for Chinese nationals traveling from China. Under this scheme, Chinese visitors may stay in Cambodia for up to 14 days without a visa, requiring only an E-arrival card. The exemption will run for four months, from June 15 to October 15, 2026, according to an official letter from the Office of the Council of Ministers seen by Fresh News on Wednesday (Dec. 3).

The letter further states that Chinese tourists will be permitted multiple entries during the exemption period.

The government has also authorized the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to discuss with the Chinese side ways to simplify visa procedures for Cambodian travellers, with the long-term goal of achieving reciprocal visa-free travel.
