S. Korea (FN), Dec. 26 - Cambodian embassy in the Republic of Korea held a meeting to discuss problems that Cambodian workers in Korea are facing. Besides, they work to promote and preserve Cambodian cultures.
The fourth meeting was held in Suwon City, chaired by Long Dimanche, Cambodian ambassador to Korea with the participation of leaders from community associations, arts groups, and women's networks in the Republic of Korea.
In response to the requests from various group, Long Dimanche decided to continue providing passport services, consultation, and local public forums to remote communities; cooperate with voluntary doctor association to provide comprehensive healthcare services, free X-Ray services, and vaccines for the people; organize a Buddhist moral education program twice a year for Cambodian communities living in Korea; and solve problems for workers.
Meanwhile, Long Dimanche also proposed to the leaders of the associate groups to set up large gatherings to publicize labor and health laws or investment services, and encourage workers to return home by the end of the legitimate contract in order to encourage more Cambodians.
The meeting also discusses preparation for the upcoming Khmer New Year Celebration in Korea, the largest traditional cultural festival of Cambodia.
