(Phnom Penh): A senior official from Cambodia's Secretariat of the Border Affairs Committee confirmed that the delay in the joint technical team's meeting regarding the implementation of technical instructions for temporary border marker installation from border posts 42 to 47 is not Cambodia’s fault.

According to the official, Cambodia only received the diplomatic note from the Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh via email on the morning of November 17, 2025. Under mutual agreement, the Thai side was supposed to send its approval of the Technical Instruction to Cambodia first, allowing Cambodia to issue a diplomatic note in response. However, Thailand was slow to fulfil this obligation.

Therefore, any allegation that the joint technical meeting was delayed by a day due to Cambodia is inaccurate. It was, in fact, the Thai side that caused the delay. The technical meeting has been rescheduled to take place on November 18, 2025.
