(Banteay Meanchey): After failing to force Cambodian citizens to leave Prey Chan and Chouk Chey villages, Thailand resorted to extreme and degrading tactics by playing disturbing sounds throughout the night, leaving no resident able to rest.
The audio, amplified through extremely loud speakers, included two types of sounds: ghost-like howls played from 10:44 p.m. on October 10 until 12:04 a.m. on October 11, and aircraft noise broadcast from 3:22 a.m. to 3:53 a.m. on the morning of October 11, 2025.
Prey Chan and Chouk Chey villages are densely populated with residents including the ill, the elderly, young children, and persons with disabilities. The relentless noise attacks by the Thai side caused widespread distress and exhaustion among residents, leaving the entire community unable to rest.
Thailand’s actions represent a grave violation of human rights and starkly reveal a lack of dignity and morality.
