(Phnom Penh): During the first nine months of 2025, Cambodia exported more than 11 million tons of agricultural products abroad, valued at over USD 3.88 billion, according to a report from the General Directorate of Agriculture seen by Fresh News on Wednesday (Oct. 7).

The report indicated that from January to September 2025, Cambodia’s agricultural exports recorded in the National Phytosanitary Database totalled 11,131,681.15 tons. Among these, non-rice crops accounted for 5,287,345.56 tons, paddy rice for 5,247,992.59 tons, and milled rice for 596,343 tons, exported to 88 destinations worldwide, representing a 30.43 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2024.

The report further noted, “In the first nine months of 2025, the estimated export value of agricultural products (based on exporters’ invoice values) amounted to USD 3,888,698,091.65. Of this, non-rice crop exports were worth USD 2,378,777,112.11, paddy rice exports USD 1,054,531,631.03, and milled rice exports USD 455,389,348.51.”

Although overall agricultural exports rose by 30.43 per cent in the first nine months of 2025, several crop categories saw a decline due to the following reasons:

- Fresh cassava exports declined as farmers shifted from fresh cassava to dried and processed starch products, which are longer-lasting and fetch higher market prices. Specifically, dried cassava exports increased by 57.62 per cent and cassava starch exports by 83.49 per cent compared to the same period in 2024.

- Fresh mango exports decreased as domestic processing factories purchased fresh mangoes for dried mango production for export. As of the first nine months of 2025, dried mango exports rose by 27.54 per cent compared to the same period in 2024.
