Siem Reap (FN), Dec. 14 – Deputy Prime Minister Men Sam An said that within the 25 years of the inscription of Angkor Wat on World Heritage List, Cambodia has received huge benefits from the development partners with a total budget of approximately $500 million.
The celebration of the 25th anniversary of the inscription of Angkor Wat (1992-2017), organized by the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, was held Thursday evening in front of Angkor Wat temple, Siem Reap Province.
The deputy prime minister added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Hun Sen, Cambodia has been collaborating with partners to preserve and restore temples in the Angkor area and other sites.
She also advised all stakeholders to seek collaboration from tourists by not allowing tourists to violate Cambodia's World Heritage; rather promote culture to expand tourism, so that Cambodia's tourism will be sustainable.
A total of 7 Cambodian cultural and artistic objects were listed on the World Heritage List, including Angkor Wat Temple, the Royal Ballet, Sbek Thom or Khmer Shadow Theatre, Preah Vihear Temple, Chapei Dong Veng, Tug of War Traditional Game and Sambor Prei Kuk Temple.
