(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet advised Phnom Penh Capital Administration to arrange 597 buses to offer free transportation for citizens traveling to their hometowns during the Pchum Ben Festival.

The premier wrote on his social media on Thursday (Sep.11) as follows:

“As has been arranged in past years to help reduce the travel expenses of citizens returning to their hometowns during the traditional Khmer Pchum Ben Festival, I have instructed the Phnom Penh Capital Administration to arrange buses to provide free transportation for citizens traveling to their hometowns.”

According to Samdech Thipadei, Khuong Sreng, Governor of Phnom Penh Capital, reported that the administration has prepared 597 buses to serve both daily transportation needs in Phnom Penh and for transporting citizens to their hometowns for the 2025 Khmer Pchum Ben Festival over six days, from 20-25 September 2025 These include:

1. 100 buses designated for daily transportation in Phnom Penh and the Techo International Airport Express Bus service.

2. 497 buses designated for transporting citizens from Phnom Penh to their hometowns and back, across seven main routes. Further details will be provided by Phnom Penh Capital Hall soon.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet expressed hope that this arrangement of free bus transportation will help ease travel and reduce expenses for citizens during this year’s traditional Khmer Pchum Ben Festival.
