(Phnom Penh): Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, extended his congratulations on the official launch of the Techo International Airport in Phnom Penh.
Samdech Thipadei wrote on his social media on Tuesday (Sep. 9).
“Celebrating the official launch of Techo International Airport, which will begin operating flight services for national and international travellers, further broadening Cambodia's connection to the world,” he wrote.
Samdech Thipadei added, “The aviation sector is one of many ways to connect tourists, businesses, political networks, and multi-purpose missions. As a major source of national revenue, it is driven by targeted policies to attract investment, strengthen diplomatic relations, and promote other destinations. Therefore, Cambodia has actively expanded and upgraded its international airports to meet growing travel demand, enhancing connectivity for travellers, especially those visiting Cambodia.”
It is noteworthy that on the morning of 9 September 2025, the Techo International Airport, a historic achievement for Cambodia, officially commenced flight operations. Located in Kandal Province and partially extending into Takeo Province, the airport represents a new gateway connecting Cambodia to the world, with an estimated investment of approximately USD 1.5 billion.
