(Phnom Penh): The Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority (CMAA) issues the following statement regarding the August 27, 2025 landmine incident near Ta Krabey Temple and subsequent allegations made by the Royal Thai Army. A Thai soldier was severely injured after stepping on a landmine in the border area, losing part of his lower right leg. The Royal Thai Army has accused Cambodia of violating the ceasefire agreement and the Ottawa Treaty by allegedly planting new "plastic" landmines undetectable by standard mine detectors.
