(Phnom Penh): Pen Bona, Delegate Minister and Head of the Royal Government Spokesperson Unit, stated that in the last 500 years of Cambodian history, no period has witnessed development on the scale of the Techo Era.
Pen Bona spoke on Monday (Aug. 25) during a press briefing on the implementation of the ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand.
"In modern history after the Angkor era, Cambodia has never advanced as rapidly or significantly as it has under the Techo Era,” he underscored.
He emphasized that this era has brought the longest stretch of peace in Cambodia’s modern history. The nation now boasts strong infrastructure networks, which have greatly improved the efficiency of transportation and daily travel.
Beyond infrastructure, Cambodia has expanded its modern transport systems, and citizens today enjoy more opportunities for education, overseas travel, and higher living standards.
The spokesperson added that these achievements are undeniable and stand as clear proof of Cambodia’s current progress and prosperity.
