(Phnom Penh): The situation along the Cambodia-Thailand border remains calm as of this morning (Aug. 4), with no new outbreaks of armed conflict. However, Cambodian forces remain on high alert, ready to respond to any potential developments.

Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense, confirmed the update during a press conference reviewing the latest implementation of the ceasefire agreement between Cambodia and Thailand.

“In the border areas of Preah Vihear and Oddar Meanchey, the situation remains stable and under control,” said the spokesperson. “Our forces continue to carry out their duties with vigilance and unwavering discipline.”
